About

Our story

Why we built this

Websites disappear for all kinds of reasons. A host cancels an account after a missed payment. A hack wipes a database with no backup in sight. A domain quietly expires and gets snapped up by someone else. In almost every one of these cases, the site owner assumes the content is simply gone.

It usually isn’t. The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine has been crawling and storing snapshots of the public web since 1996, and there’s a real chance your old site is sitting in there right now, pages, images, stylesheets and all.

The problem was never that the content didn’t exist. It was that getting it back out required knowing Archive.org’s structure, manually saving each page, tracking down every asset, and fixing broken links one at a time, work that was slow, technical, and out of reach for most site owners.

RecoverYourSite exists to close that gap. Paste an archived URL, and the tool does the crawling, downloading, and link fixing automatically, turning what used to be a multi-day manual project into a process that takes minutes.

Our mission is simple: make it possible for anyone, technical or not, to get their lost website back.

Our commitment

What you can expect from us

We take seriously that people trust us with their website’s data.

Your data, handled responsibly

We only restore what’s publicly archived on the Wayback Machine, and we don’t retain your files longer than necessary to deliver your download.

Real support, not a ticket queue

If something doesn’t work as expected, you can reach a real person, not an automated response system.

Fair refund policy

If a restore genuinely fails, we make it right. See our full Refund Policy for details.

Built to improve

We’re actively working on making recovery faster, more reliable, and available for more types of sites over time.
